After launching in the Indian market in 2023, Suzuki finally announced the presence of the newest compact SUV Suzuki Fronx in Japan. The plan is for this car to be ready to launch around autumn 2024. Reporting from the Car Watch page (26/7/2024), the Suzuki Fronx has been added to the company's official website which displays the exterior design, interior design and color choices. The plan is that starting August 1, Suzuki will hold exhibitions throughout Japan, so that consumers can see this car directly.
Based on the specifications, the Fronx is equipped with a 1,500 cc K15C mild hybrid engine plus a 6-speed automatic transmission.
This machine produces 74 kW of power or the equivalent of 100 Tk and 135 Nm of torque, as well as an electric motor with a power of 2.3 kW or the equivalent of 3 Tk and a torque of 60 Nm. Unlike the model sold in India, the Japanese version of Fronx comes with more complete features. Because this model already has all-wheel drive (AWD) options including Snow mode, Grip Control and Hill Descent Control.
Then there are heated seats, electric parking brake with auto hold, and ADAS which includes Dual Sensor Brake Support II, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and others. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding price yet. Reportedly, Suzuki will announce the official price of the Fronx at launch. In Indonesia, this car was caught on surveillance cameras being tested on the road in Cikarang, West Java, in mid-July 2024.
Even though it is covered in camouflage, the indication of the Fronx is visible from the front with three main lights. Looks similar to the Fronx which is already sold globally. When asked about the launch of Fronx in Indonesia, the President Director of PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor, Minoru Amano, still kept his information tight.
